About The Artist

Hey there! I'm Amanda Brady, a 35 year old artist currently located in Central Michigan. As a child, creating art was always one of my favorite ways to pass the time. All these years later, it's still a true passion for me. I eventually went on to major in art and earned my bachelor's degree from Alma College (class of '08, Go Scots!), as well as a K-12 teaching certification for art.

After graduating, I continued working with my family. Since before I was born, my parents owned and operated a traveling carnival company. I spent many seasons on the road, watching my parents build their dream. As an adult, I worked as an office manager, and as a bonus I occasionally painted some of our rides in the off season. When my family retired and sold their company, I was facing the unknown and had big decisions to make. I passed up the chance to continue working as office staff for another company. Instead I decided to go all in with my painting, and never looked back.

These days, I use my unique understanding of both art and the needs of the outdoor amusement industry to give me an edge with my clients. My time earning my degree provided me with a fresh perspective that diverges from the traditional styles often found in carnival artwork. My time working with my family gave me a front row seat to exactly what a show owner needs when designing their equipment. Together, my experiences have built a great toolkit for me to refer to when I create each piece. Practicality meets a heavy dose of whimsy, with clean lines and a strong sense of color. I am so grateful to everyone who entrusted their projects to me and provided me with the opportunities I need to continue to grow as an artist.

When I'm not painting carousels, I also take on small commissions. Canvases, mural work...even custom painted shoes! I've tried it all. Each project is a chance to build on my skills and expand into new territories. Outside of the shop or studio, my newest territory is the role of momma to my sweet baby boy Antonio. He is such a blessing and has taken me on so many new adventures in such a short period of time. You can find us out exploring with our three crazy doggos, or home snuggled up together with a good book. Armed with strong coffee and an even stronger imagination, I look forward to seeing what unfolds in all things, both personal and professional.
